A beautiful vase with orchids painted in the traditional literati stroke style. The traditional motif matches the traditional shape of the vase.

The calligraphy quotes the a part of a poem by Tao Yuanming (陶渊明, 365–427). The text reads: 幽兰生前庭，含薰待清风，清风脱然至，见别箫艾" The orchid grows in the front yard, waiting for the breeze with its fragrance. The breeze comes suddenly, and I see you in the flute and mugwort.".
